THE FRIENDS OF HEAVITREE PARISH CHURCH assist in the care and maintenance of both the churchyard and church building to help ensure that both will be available to serve the current and future residents of the Parish.
The Friends take a particular interest in the maintenance of the Lower Churchyard, for which there is no outside financial support. Recently they paid for a new Remembrance Garden and are working to establish the Churchyard as a nature reserve to encourage the local wildlife.
The Friends have recently published a Guide to Heavitree Church, written by Den Perrin, our Patron, and illustrated with colour photos by David Oates. At a cost of £2 (or £2.75 by post) the Guide is good value and profits will go to the Friends funds. If you would like a copy, please contact the Hon Secretary (details below).
Membership of the Friends is open to anyone who cares for the Parish Church of St Michael & All Angels. A number of fund raising social events are held throughout the year and include Quiz Evenings, Concerts and Barn Dances when Members are invited to come along and bring their friends and families.
The Friends are kept in touch through Newsletters and are also invited to our Annual Meeting and Social Event every June.
